While working on gardens and growing food, we have to find a way to use some excess food. And who does not like fresh eggs?
While the chickens have been enjoying their new barn and run we have been adding new friends to the flock to keep up with egg production. We have many different breeds of chickens and even a goose for protection!
Over the past few year we have worked to get the chicken coop up and running. It is now fully functional with a small door to help hose out the coop for easier cleaning.
Important things to remember about chickens are to always have clean water, a clean area to run around and a place to perch while sleeping. There are many talks over what to feed chickens and how much space they need, what works for us may be different than what works for you! Remember to care for your animals the way you need to!
